Notre Dame is about to make Lou Holtz an official fake doctor

What qualifications does Lou Holtz have to call himself "doctor"? Well, his mother loves him, for one. And his old friends at Notre Dame are about to make it official:

Former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz will be among 13 people to receive honorary degrees from the school he led to a national championship in 1988.

The university announced Wednesday that Holtz would be given an honorary doctor of laws degree. Notre Dame previously had announced that Defense Secretary Robert Gates would be the speaker at the commencement May 22 at Notre Dame Stadium.

As Holtz has said before, he's not new to the honorary doctorate thing (he had at least four as of 2008, when he shot his first "Dr. Lou" clip ?see above), but a degree from his beloved former employer may be the first he actually sees fit to hang on the wall. And while I don't know what a "doctor of laws" is, exactly, I'm going to be very disappointed if the piece of paper they hand him in May says anything other than "Master of Football Science."
