Headlinin?: Rich Rodriguez?s Michigan home can be yours for only $1.9 million

Making the morning rounds.

? Yes, that's $126,333 per win. Very clever. Continuing his steady retreat from the state, former Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez has put his Saline, Mich., home on the market for $1.9 million. Rodriguez purchased the 5,683 sq. foot house in May 2008, six months after he was hired away from West Virginia, and reportedly visited on several occasions in between recruiting trips and collapsing on his office desk in Ann Arbor at 2 a.m.

From the online listing: "Distinctive home is the perfect choice for the discerning buyer with an eye for the finest craftsmanship and amenities. The grand foyer features a breathtaking view of the 3 story atrium framed by the sweep of the curved staircase. Rooms of gracious proportions open to the private pool with waterfall for unequaled entertaining. Luxurious Master Wing with sitting room and private balcony, an exquisitely appointed bath that rivals any spa. Walk-out lower level has every amenity imaginable, including a (kitchen), theater, game rooms." Sadly, the accompanying photo gallery does not include a picture of the waterfall. ? A house divided, etc. Despite increasing calls for "fundamental" reform of NCAA oversight, Big Ten commissioner assured the USA Today there is no agenda for any conference to secede from the century-old union that flies the NCAA banner ? at least, not yet. "Don't blame structure," Delany said, "until you have a group of core presidents, athletic directors, commissioners and coaches who are willing to embrace real change [and can't get it through the NCAA]. At that juncture, then I think it's fair to look at how else you get it." [USA Today]

? Another one bites the dust. Maryland offensive lineman Justin Lewis, a full-time starter last year at right guard, has been dismissed from the team for an undisclosed violation of team rules, bringing the number of prematurely departed Terps to an even dozen since new coach Randy Edsall's arrival on Jan. 2 . Maryland began the 2010 season with 37 sophomores and juniors on scholarship, according to Washington Times beat writer Patrick Stevens, of whom only 24 remain on the team and eligible as we approach the 2011 campaign. ? Annual September mismatches, only $5.95 a month. In addition to its regular offerings, ESPN's Longhorn Network will air two Texas football games this fall, beginning with UT's season opener against Rice on Sept. 3. The second game will be a Big 12 affair to be determined during the season, but Kansas fans might as well go ahead and sign up now. [Austin-American Statesman, Dallas Morning News]

? Come back now, ya hear? On the field, multiple sources report that incoming Longhorn signee Quincy Russell, a four-star defensive lineman out of San Antonio, has failed to qualify academically and will likely enroll in junior college before taking another stab at Austin in two years. Russell was ranked as Rivals' 11th-best defensive tackle in the 2011 class and the No. 125 player overall ? but still second fiddle to fellow 'Horn signee Desmond Jackson on both counts. [Burnt Orange Nation]

? Comings and goings. Degree in hand, fifth-year Cincinnati quarterback Chazz Anderson is transferring to Buffalo in search of playing time in his final year of eligibility. The move reunites Anderson with former Bearcat offensive coordinator Jeff Quinn, who just so happens to be in the market for a mobile, spread-ready slinger as he enters his second season as the Bulls' head coach. [Associated Press]

Quickly? The Oklahoman offers a blow-by-blow of Landry Jones' proposal to Sooner hoopster Whitney Hand. ? A former Oregon quarterback is a newly minted police officer. ? Garrett Gilbert still sounds like the man to beat in Texas' ongoing quarterback derby. ? NCAA trouble has already cost North Carolina a commitment. ... Clemson's hyped signees are very, very fast. ? Twitter is kind of freaking out over unconfirmed rumors that five-star Alabama freshman Dee Hart may have suffered a serious knee injury. ? And who knew Louisiana Tech was such a hotbed for NFL kickers?
