Jeff Fisher: What's Next In Tennessee Following Coach's Ouster?

Jeff Fisher was fired as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans Monday, ending Fisher's 16-year run as the franchise's coach.

He had been the longest tenured coach in the NFL, and the only coach the team has had since moving from Houston to Nashville, Tennessee in 1997.

With Fisher gone, and Vince Young likely headed out the door as well, where do the Titans go from here? Owner Bud Adams is clearly wanting to take the team in a different direction, but what will that be?

Offensive line coach Mike Munchak is one of the favorites to replace Fisher, but whoever is chosen, he'll have quite the rebuilding project on his hands. After all, Tennessee lacks a franchise quarterback, and both the offense and defense faded horribly down the stretch, as the Titans went 1-8 after a 5-2 start.

This decision will be a turning point for a franchise that could probably use a bit of fresh air after 16 years under Fisher.

Bud Adams could look for a coach with a stronger hand then Fisher, who was known as a player's coach, or he could look for someone with a similar personality to the now-departed coach.

We'll know more as today progresses, as the Titans have scheduled a press conference for noon Eastern Standard Time to discuss the firing and the franchise's next direction.
