But before any goes and signs Caleb Hanie to an extension or petitions their teams GM to trade for the serviceable QB, keep in mind you?ve seen this before. There have been times throughout footballs history where backup quarterbacks come in and lead a team to victory, or they bring them close.
We saw it in Green Bay when Matt Flynn almost knocked off the red hot Patriots. Chicago has had a history of it too, but it?s an anomaly and not the norm. Backups are almost always that for a reason. Hanie is on the rise, but he had nowhere to go but up.
