NBA Rumors: Where Will Monta Ellis Play Next Season?

NBA Rumors Circle Around Monta Ellis and His Future In Golden State

Monta Ellis is one of the most explosive offensive players in all of basketball, but Golden State is looking to trade the guard to the highest bidder.

It started with a rumor involving Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala, and from there on, the rumors have spiraled out of control, as numerous teams have been linked to the Warriors' high-volume shooter.

Per Philly.com:

Of course, that also might be posturing in order to help drive up Ellis' value. Reports in the Bay area have described an Ellis deal as inevitable.

Once word leaked about the possible Sixers trade, a number of teams have called the Warriors about Ellis, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The newspaper cited Atlanta, Chicago, Memphis, Orlando, Portland and the Lakers as having also shown interest, according to league sources.

That is a lot of suitors, and I can't figure out why a team like Chicago would want Ellis, even though he reportedly wants to play for the Bulls (or any other contender, for that matter).

Both Derrick Rose and Ellis play the same type of game, where they dominate the ball as all of the offense runs through them.

A team like Orlando would make a lot of sense, mainly because he and Howard would be a deadly combination, but the Magic don't have many valuable trade trips to give the Warriors in return for the face of the franchise.

Ellis is going to draw a lot of attention, but if I had to guess, I bet he stays in Golden State next season. With new head coach Mark Jackson coming into town, I don't imagine a drastic roster overhaul is in store unless the Warriors get a great offer.

I don't see that coming any time soon.
