WWE "Spring Cleaning" May Be on the Horizon
For the last several years, it's seemed that the WWE has made the post-Wrestlemania period one of "spring cleaning" so to speak. That is, company officials usually clean house in April or May by cutting a number of infrequently used lower and mid-card talents.
So, why hasn't it happened this year? According to Richard Gray of wrestlingnewsworld.com, we soon may not have to ask ourselves that question anymore:
"WWE is in the process of evaluating their developmental system and there has been a lot of chatter about calling up workers to begin building even more new talent. If that happens as planned I think roster cuts are imminent."
Though I'm not a fan of anyone losing their jobs--sans The Great Khali--I think it's safe to say that the "spring cleaning" is a necessary process.
It's just like anything else. Out with the old, and in with the new.
Like Richard Gray, I'd expect there to be a significant amount of cuts within the next month or so. Maybe somewhere between 8-10 talents who get "future endeavored."
That way, the WWE can use NXT castoffs or developmental workers as the "new jobbers."
So, what do you guys think? Who will and should be released when "spring cleaning" comes? Just don't say Zack Ryder.
