Dunk of the Year nominee: Syracuse forward C.J. Fair

It came as a surprise to Syracuse's Kris Joseph when he turned on "SportsCenter" after his team's win over Cornell on Tuesday night only to find out that teammate C.J. Fair's thunderous fast-break dunk didn't make the top-plays segment.

"Can't believe @cjfair dunk didn't make top 10," Joseph Tweeted. "Smh. It was better then a lot of plays."

Indeed, it's hard to believe there were 10 more highlight-worthy plays in America on Tuesday night than Fair's epic throwdown.

The freshman wing collected a terrific outlet pass from Rick Jackson, drove straight for the rim and soared over Cornell's 6-foot-2 guard Drew Ferry, who had bravely (or foolishly) positioned himself under the basket in an attempt to draw a charge. The result was a huge left-handed slam that inspired a roar from the Carrier Dome faithful and brought all of Fair's teammates to their feet on the Syracuse bench.

"I just kept dreaming of one of those fast-break dunks," Fair told the Syracuse Post-Standard. "It was a great feeling. Got the crowd involved, got my teammates involved. Just a great feeling."
