I have been trying to write this article for a week now, but it has been hard. My deadline was Thursday, and here I am just trying to find a positive for the Seattle Seahawks. I just can’t.
But I do have to write something, so here it goes. Call me hater, but I call myself a realist.
I did try hard though. I wanted to write an article that would shed some light on what it would take to get a win against the Falcons on Sunday. Yet, as I really examine the teams, I don’t like what I have to write.
I want to be able to say we can expect the running game of the Seattle Seahawks to show up. I want to say that the Seahawks will be able to stretch the field. I want to say the Seahawks will win this game because of great defense. It just isn’t going to happen that way.
After the debacle against the 49ers last week 40-21, how can we expect anything except a blow out on Sunday?
The Seahawks have an upcoming game on Sunday with the Atlanta Falcons, which is a team that has a lot going for itself preparing for the playoffs. They are going to start with this game.
Mostly because of Matt Ryan. This guy is playing like a Pro-Bowl quarterback. He’s spreading the ball around like it was a birthday cake. With Roddy White and company begging for more, Ryan is delivering that “cake” to everyone who wants a slice because it’s all too easy. As it will be on Sunday in Seattle.

The Falcons are going to come out on all cylinders and start scoring quick on our beloved Seahawks.
Why?
Because the Seahawks couldn’t stop a baby carriage on the defensive side of the ball. And what I expect to happen and see is the fans (the 12th man) in Seattle will be sitting on their hands after the first quarter. The Falcons will be up
14-0 and, before you know it, the game will be out of control.
It will be a scrimmage for the Falcons on the offensive side of the ball. They will be trying some things that they want to use against other teams.
Defensively, the Seahawks may hurt the Falcons. The Falcons will have to play down to the competition that is the Seahawks. That may affect the team’s play in the weeks to come, against other better contending teams in the NFC.
The offense won’t be there for Seattle. It will be like taking candy from a baby, to steal an over used term. It is over used on this team because it is true.
The Falcons defense will be all over the field. It may be stopping the run or batting down balls, or as I predict, picking off Matt Hasselbeck at least 3-4 times before the slaughter is over.

You know, as I write this, it pains me to see the Seahawks, a team that I write for, get blown out. Again, how can you expect anything different?
I can only hope the Seahawks show up to play like they did in Chicago, and at home against the Chargers.
As bad as the Seahawks have been playing we’ve got to get back to what they have really done as of late? Well, they have taken five God awful losses to the 49ers of 40-21, the Chiefs 42-24, the Saints 34-19, the Giants 41-7 and the Raiders 33-3.
Those are horrible numbers.
I guess I’m saying is that when they lose, they lose big. The way those losses came show lack of effort also. When the Seahawks get down early, it just gets worse for them. Ugly is a nice way of saying it.
As the birds of Atlanta take flight at the end of this game, all that will be left of the Seahawks will be a pile of feathers, and some skinless birds left over. It will be ugly, it will be bad, and the Falcons will leave this team on life support for the rest of the season after a 48-10 shellacking.
