NFL Draft 2011: Todd McShay's Latest Mock Draft Is a Shocking Pick for Chiefs

Todd McShay's Latest 2011 Mock NFL Draft has the Three Scenarios for the Raiders

Todd McShay released his latest mock draft today, and this mock draft allows for variables. Not only does mix-master McShay give us his first-round picks, but he also gives three possible scenarios.

McShay shifts his Chiefs pick, and he does so to a name I have not yet seen connected to the Chiefs in the first-round, Arizona defensive end, Brooks Reed. It would seem to me that if the Chiefs have Reed targeted as their guy than they should trade down to do so.

Here are his three scenarios:

Scenario 1: This might seem a bit high for Reed, but he makes sense as a pass-rusher to complement Tamba Hali, and with his motor, character and experience on both edges, Reed fits what GM Scott Pioli is looking for.
Scenario 2: Carimi would make sense as an immediate upgrade at right tackle if he's still on the board.
Scenario 3: Baylor NT Phil Taylor fits the Chiefs' scheme, but his character baggage and possible foot issues might scare Pioli away.

I completely agree about Taylor. I had thought this would be the pick, but his foot issues add way too much risk for that to be a Scott Pioli selection. And while Gabe Carimi is off the board he still has Colorado's Nate Solder available. Solder would be a much better value at No. 21 than Reed would be.
