NFL Draft 2011: Could Cincinnati Wait for Kevin Kolb, Select A.J. Green 4th?

Bengals Reportedly Interested in Kevin Kolb; Would Shake Up Draft

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback situation took a potentially big turn earlier today when Adam Schefter tweeted that the Bengals were interested in him, noting that their WR coach, James Urban, was QB coach for the Eagles.

This raises two major questions for anybody keeping an eye on the draft. First off, because of the lockout, a trade is not happening before the draft. Is Cincinnati actually willing to bypass selecting a quarterback to grab Kolb?

Kolb might actually be good for Cincinnati, but this is at best incredibly risky, especially considering the whole Carson Palmer situation. Besides that, would this mean that the Bengals draft A.J. Green fourth overall?

I have no doubt that the Bengals, if they don't feel confident in any of the quarterbacks, will select Green. They need that playmaking wide receiver, which Green is.

Of course, that won't mean anything if the Bengals don't have a quarterback, and if they end the draft without someone that they know will lead them in 2011, well... Andrew Luck could be the first overall pick and ripe for the taking in 2012.
