Bruce Pearl, Hines Ward, Michael Floyd and Monday's Sport Buzz

Bruce Pearl has been fired as head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers after the basketball team went 19-15 overall and lost in its opening matchup to the Michigan Wolverines.

Pearl has been in hot water for months stemming from lying to NCAA investigators during a probe into the school's recruiting.

His dismissal has already been met with outrage from fans, probably further fueled by Pearl's statement on his Facebook page, the medium that has proven it can grow support exponentially.

Hines Ward is being considered the front-runner on Dancing with the Stars after he announced he would be performing on the hit TV show.

He has reportedly trained extensively for the competition.

In further football news, Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd has been suspended by coach Brian Kelly following Floyd's DUI arrest on Sunday morning.

According to The Observer, a St. Joseph County police report details Floyd allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.15 or more.
