Carlo Ancelotti has announced that 19 year old Jeffrey Bruma will be replacing Branislav Ivanovic in defense in Chelsea's next game against Aston Villa.
Ivanovic was suspended one game after receiving his fifth booking for the Premier League 2010-2011 season.
Ancelotti made his announcement on Chelsea TV and stated that Bruma "is a good defender who has worked closely with John Terry, Alex, and Ivanovic.
The news comes at a time when Chelsea's bid for Benfica defender David Luiz was rejected. It also comes at a time when there is a need for a strong defense after the Blues win over Bolton.
Jeffrey Bruma is expected to play his first EPL game in his professional career after playing one match with the UEFA Champions League and another with the Carling Cup.
Ancelotti has expressed his confidence that Bruma will be performing well in the upcoming game.
Jeffrey Bruma was born in the Netherlands and started early in the FA Youth Cup and the Youth League. He turned professional in the year 2009 and has made a meteoric rise in football.
His first international cap was the Netherlands VS Ukraine in the year 2010 against Andriy Shevchenko.
During the same year, Bruma signed a four year contract with Chelsea FC in which he can play in the center or within the right of defense.
Roman Abramovich (Chelsea's owner) will be watching with interest to see if this latest move could bring Chelsea out of its slump or get Ancelotti fired.
