Gene Chizik Gets Big Bonus After BCS National Championship Victory

Gene Chizik didn't just bolster his trophy case with Monday night's victory over Oregon in the BCS National Championship Game. He also earned quite a payday.

Chizik earned $600,000 in bonuses thanks to the win, making Chizik's total performance-related compensation for the season $1.1 million. His base salary is $2.1 million.

"These are historic moments," Russ Campbell, Chizik's agent, told Bloomberg. "When coaches reach historic heights, you compensate them for it."
