NFL Trade Rumors: Will Ryan Grant Be Shipped from the Green Bay Packers?

NFL Trade Rumors Has Ryan Grant Played His Last Down In Green Bay?

When Ryan Grant went down with a season-ending injury in Week One last season, many experts thought the Packers would be doomed.

With no real threat to run the football, defenses could send seven and eight guys into coverage, crowding passing lanes for Aaron Rodgers.

Five months later, Green Bay had captured the Super Bowl with fifth-round rookie James Starks as their starting tailback.

It's likely the Packers are eagerly awaiting Grant's return to the field, but they proved to themselves last season that they can win with guys like Brandon Jackson (who's likely to become a free agent) and the aforementioned Starks.

If Green Bay can get considerable compensation for Grant, it'll be interesting to see how quick they are to let him go.

They drafted multi-faceted runner Alex Green out of Hawai'i in the third round loved what they saw from Starks during the postseason.

It seems like the Packers know they can contend without Grant in their backfield and shouldn't be held in such high regard, given his injury past.
