Josh Johnson Excited to Match Up Against Halladay in Early Marquee Matchup

The two early season odds-on favorites in the National League are facing each other tonight in Florida, with Josh Johnson facing Roy Halladay, last season's Cy Young award winner. However, Johnson is impressing just about everyone in the league as much as Halladay early in 2011.

What's been most impressive about both Johnson and Halladay has been their early game dominance. ESPN had a great stat about the combined dominance of Hallady and Johnson over the first three innings of the game. They've allowed three earned runs and struck out a total of 50 over the first three frames of games this year.

That doesn't mean you should wait and tune in during the fourth inning. If you love a great pitcher's duel, you'll need to tune in early.

Note: Halladay is 3-0 in his last three starts against the Marlins, which includes his perfect game, with a 1.46 ERA, 32 strikeouts and just two walks. Marlins hitters need to learn patience if they have any hope for success.
