Orlando Cabrera apparently will be playing in Ohio again this season, but he'll call Progressive Field home instead of Great American Ball Park. The free agent shortstop has agreed to a deal with the Indians, SI.com reports. The Indians had no comment on the reports when contacted by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Cabrera, 36, helped lead the Reds to an NL Central title last season but was not in their plans for 2011. They signed Edgar Renteria to take his place and Cabrera has been left to hunt for a new employer.
Cabrera's name has hardly popped up in Hot Stove rumors this season, and he was one of only three players still unsigned from FanHouse's Top 50 free agents. (Russell Branyan and Scott Podsednik are the others.)
